Health Plan’s System Migration Plan Created, Over 8,000 Business Requirements Identified
This is an AArete Healthcare Payer insight
Situation
Following the acquisition of another multi-line payer, a health plan was preparing for a full-scale multi-year migration from the existing core processing systems to their recently acquired MCO’s CPS. AArete was engaged to lead the pre-implementation planning efforts for a system migration to the new CPS in a self-hosted cloud environment.
Approach
The transition of business requirements from the current to future state required a multi-faceted approach. This included but was not limited to: the creation of business architecture templates, a full review of relevant policies and edits across LOBs, documentation of current/future state business requirements with gap analysis, and the development of change management, training, risk management and sequencing plans.
Results
After a thorough planning process, results of system integration included:
- Generation of 100+ current state documents including SIPOC diagrams, process flows and system diagrams
- Identification of 8,000+ business requirements across 13 different workstreams and gap-analysis that showed process, operating model, and system functionality gaps to drive the future state system’s design and architecture
- 100+ system migration transition requirements to be prepared for go-live
