Situation

A Higher-Ed client approached AArete to assess their campus security partner. The campus was in a high-crime region. The client partnered with AArete to execute a security strategy that included vendor partnerships, camera installations, and Clery Act requirements. AArete aligned with the Universities public safety unit to ensure the execution aligned with leadership expectations. 

Approach

AArete combined a data-centric approach, evaluating crime statistics with industry best practices for security services from peer universities, to establish a go-forward operating model that would meet the client’s goals. These goals included: student safety, general public safety, minimizing cost impact, and more.

Results

AArete was able to yield both financial and qualitative value through the establishment of an improved security program. This included a reduction of $1.1M in spend, while optimizing the locations of guards, cameras, and reporting processes.
